What is the SNF Equipment Grant?
The School Nutrition Foundation (SNF) Equipment Grant is a program established by the School Nutrition Association (SNA) to provide financial assistance to school nutrition professionals who are looking to improve the infrastructure of their meal programs. The grant is designed to help educational facilities purchase new kitchen equipment, upgrade existing equipment, or implement new technology to better serve students.
The SNF Equipment grant is awarded on an annual basis, and the amount of funding available varies each year. Eligible applicants include SNA members who work in a school nutrition program and have been employed for at least one year. In 2022, FWE took part in this grant for the first time and is excited about the prospect of participating in future grants. We take pride in being a part of this program and look forward to continuing our support in the coming years!
And The Winner Is…
FWE was thrilled to have participated in the SNF Equipment Grant, which awarded $25,000 to the Grafton School District in Grafton, WI. Our team worked closely with the district to help them choose the best equipment to meet their needs, and we’re excited to see the positive impact it will have on their school nutrition program.
After consulting with the district, it was decided that the grant funds would be used to purchase two HLC Well models and a UHST warming cabinet. The HLC models are a perfect fit for the district as they provide an ideal way to keep hot food items at a safe temperature while also allowing for flexibility in serving. The UHST warming cabinet maintains food quality and temperature during serving, ensuring that students receive high-quality and nutritious meals.
The Grafton School District’s commitment to providing nutritious meals to students is evident, and we are thrilled to be a part of their efforts. Our team is proud to have helped them obtain the equipment needed to make their school nutrition program a success.
