FWE & The NAFEM Show 2023
NAFEM 2023 was a much-anticipated event for everyone in the food service industry. These past four years have been challenging for everyone, but we were glad to be back for an amazing show both as an exhibitor and eager spectators.
Throughout the three-day event, we saw the incredible amount of innovation, rapid adjustments, and new products that came to fruition during the pandemic. We also had the chance to connect with many industry professionals, allowing us to expand our network and gain valuable insights into the latest trends and developments in the food service industry. Our team was impressed with the level of engagement and interest from attendees and were glad to receive positive feedback on the quality and functionality of our equipment.
If you were able to make it to the show, we hope you stopped by and checked out our booth. If you couldn’t make it, don’t worry! Below we highlight the key components of our booth to give a quick glimpse at some of the innovative products that we exhibited and some prototypes that are still in development.
The Booth
FWE’s booth at the NAFEM tradeshow featured our latest food service equipment, including heated holding cabinets, cook and hold ovens, and refrigeration solutions.
Our knowledgeable staff was on hand to answer questions and provide demonstrations of our products. Our very own Culinary Applications Specialist Damon Anthony and Chef Chicco, from Old Major Market, worked tirelessly to provide live demos showcasing our different products in use and serving delicious treats for anyone who came by.
We were proud to celebrate our 70th anniversary since being incorporated in 1953 by displaying our classic 1953 black pickup truck in the booth. We love displaying this truck to commemorate the year we were founded, and it always provides a fantastic place to stop and take some great pictures.
This year we created a fun video to show some of our most popular products and how they would have been advertised based on each decade, spanning from 1950 to how we now create videos today! If you weren’t able to catch it at the show be sure to follow this link and give it a watch! 70 Years with FWE
New Products
New products are always a big part of NAFEM, and this year was no different, We were happy to be able to introduce five new products at this year’s show. Here is a quick summary of these five pieces of equipment:
- Precise Humidity Combi-Companion (PHTT-CC) – Clymate IQ cabinet improves combi-oven workflow and takes the guesswork out of holding sensitive foods, providing professional results every time.
- Heated Fry Dump Station (HMC-FD) – Holds crispy fried foods at optimal serving temperature in bulk or ready-to-grab individual portions – perfect for salt, scoop, & bag preparation.
- Infrared Heated Holding Shelves (HHS-IR) – Maximize your holding time of fried and crispy coated products! Keeping these crisp products held at optimum temperature and texture for service allows for batch cooking and staging prior to key rush periods by utilizing long-wave infrared elements
- Slanted Heated Holding Shelves (HHS-ST) – A modified version of our HHS that utilizes the same blanket heated elements to extend the hold time of products, but with the inclusion of slanted shelving to assist with first-in, first-out operations.
- Heated Holding Cubbies (HHS-C) – A growing demand for online to-go and delivery orders created a demand for operators to provide a seamless pickup service to ensure customers receive the correct order. Individual cubbies separate orders for easy identification and the concealed blanket elements ensure each order stays hot.
Next Generation Products

Damon Anthony is next to our next generation of Air Screen technology! He’s posed with our ASU-10 featuring a space-saving sliding door!
In addition to the new products we displayed, we also brought three products that have been recently updated to the next generation to provide even better efficiency and quality. Those three products were:
- Mobile Refrigerated Air Screen (ASU-10) – This Refrigerated Mobile Air Screen delivers an industry leading 4 hour open-door operation window, giving quick and easy access to fast-moving food products in the safest manner possible. Despite being a powerhouse for door-open performance, the ASU-10 manages to exceed the stringent DOE (Dept. of Energy) standards for commercial refrigeration.
- Refrigerated Dough Retarder (RD-10) – Dough is the heart of many of these operations and the ability to precisely control the environment and temperature takes the guesswork out of the equation. The RD Series of Dough Retarders makes the proper staging of dough for final baking and service almost automatic by maintaining these ideal conditions.
- Precise Humidity Technology G2 (PHTT-G2) – COMING SOON! While this product is still a prototype, we expect to roll out a finalized product line in the near future. The newest generation will continue to produce the highest quality products, but will now meet even stricter energy efficiency requirements, helping operators cut costs and still maintain their products’ quality.
Commitment to Customization
Our motto is “If you can dream it, we can build it,” in the video below you will find examples of our customization capabilities and how our equipment can help any food service operator enhance and streamline their operations. Whether you are operating out of a food truck or working in a large commercial kitchen, FWE wants to be the equipment manufacturer you can count on. We can customize almost any piece of equipment to fit into existing spaces as well as craft products to fit the exact specs that new establishments may require.
